MILLIE
My
name is Millie and I was a doggie without a home, but I made my way from
TN to NJ and there was taken in by a nice Foster Family till my adoptive
family came to pick me up on 12/22/06. I was home for Christmas. I met
my new Mom and Dad and, 2 little girls Laura and Emma, that love me more
than anything in the world. Now my new family has a cat that lives with
us too, but she is old and cranky and I leave her alone, which for a dog
is OK by me. I have a yard to play in, my Dad takes me for my nightly
walk, and after the girls go to bed, my Mom pulls out my stuffed bunny
and we play keep away. They say I am the best dog in the world, and that
SOS Beagle Rescue picked out the newest member of the family almost
better than they could have. After I got to NJ my family took me to the
Vet for a once over, and Dr. Mark pronounced me a beautiful dog, that
had good treatment at the rescue and that I was very smart. I love it
here in NJ and this summer when my family goes on their vacation to the
shore, they have made arrangements so that I can go to the shore too.
Not bad for a TN Girl. Love to all who helped care for me.-- Millie Foley

SAMMI
GIRL
I'm typing this message with one hand and having a difficult time
doing it. In my other hand is the most preposterous looking dog toy and
at the opposite end of it a super sweet beagle bursting with energy and
having a grand time in her new home.
Rudy and Sammi girl are getting along quite well (see the photo),
although once in a while Rudy has to let "the rookie" know
who's the boss (besides Tony Danza -- pardon the bad joke).
She's met most of the neighbors already and saw her first horse
yesterday. I don't think she knows what to make of it. (Really big dog?)
Anyway, just wanted to let you know she's doing well and wanted to thank
you for doing what you do and being responsible for bringing this
floppy-eared angel into our home. Cheers! ---Dave Harding

MURPHY
Hi this is the McIlvaine family. We are
the family that adopted Murphy in October. He's really doing fine. He
loves it here. Here are some pictures of Murphy. He is really doing
good. He has very few accidents in the house only when I am not home.
He takes long walks every day and loves to run in the yard. (And
chases the squirrels!) My daughter has been teaching him tricks like
sit and gives you his pawl. He just learned to roll over on command
today. He really is a smart dog and has quite a few bones hidden
around the house.

FAITH
Faith was adopted in Nov. of 2008 from
SOS Beagles. We
wanted to adopt a “puppy” no more than 1 year old until we met 2
˝ year old Faith who wasn’t even supposed to be there until the
next day. By fate, she
was surrendered a day earlier than expected!
Faith didn’t even have a chance to get posted on the
website when we fell in love with her!
She was so sweet and loving and knew she was for us.
We got her home the following week and she has become the
center of our world! She
greets us each morning with whimpers & kisses…she’s a
perfect fit!
Faith has also helped us fill a huge
hole in our heart. We
lost our 1ast beagle, Mariah to cancer.
Because of Mariah…we fell in love with beagles.
We thought we’d never get over the heartache but having
Faith is bringing joy & laughter in our home once again!
We just love our little girl!

DYLAN
Since we brought Dylan home in March he has been doing great. We are
so happy to report that he hasn't had any accidents and has graduated to
a crate-free lifestyle. When we first brought him into our family, we
went a little overboard buying lots of dog toys. What a waste of money;
his favorite toy turned out to be a knotted up old beach towel that he
plays tug with. We have a daily "towel-time" ritual. He is
doing a good job with commands and has recently added
"bedtime" to his list of accomplishments. In fact, he likes
his new doggy bed so much that he sleeps later than we do. We are
continuing to work with him on the leash, but he has improved a lot
since our first walk at Sue's when he pulled so hard that his front paws
didn't touch the ground. He continues to be a quiet boy most of the
time, unless he catches the scent of a squirrel or cat nearby, and he
did wake himself up (and us) by howling in his sleep not too long ago.
He gets along great with all of the neighborhood dogs, but we've noticed
he is most playful when he meets another beagle.
